We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 3-6 years of experience (open to current SWE II or Senior titles) to design and build the core systems that power Merciv’s agentic infrastructure. We are looking for someone with high ownership, who is excited to be in-person building a cutting-edge AI platform in a collaborative startup environment. This person will be critical in architecting services that process massive volumes of enterprise data in real-time and scaling our platform for Fortune 500 clients.

What will you be doing?

• Design, build, and scale backend services using Go and Python that power autonomous retail intelligence for enterprise clients.

• Architect data ingestion and processing pipelines that handle millions of data points across internal and external sources.

• Build and maintain APIs that serve our agentic AI platform, supporting real-time decision-making at enterprise scale.

• Collaborate with ML/AI engineers to integrate predictive and prescriptive models into production workflows.

• Contribute to architectural decisions, particularly around graph databases, that shape the long-term trajectory of our platform.

Work experience

3 -​ 6 years of experience in backend engineering,​ building scalable systems with Go and/or Python.​

Backend engineering experience at a fast-​moving startup holding a Senior or minimum SWE II title.​ Big tech experience alright if paired with startup experience.​

Bachelor's degree in computer science.​

Deep proficiency in Go and/or Python and experience with Kubernetes.​

Experience with graph databases (e.​g.​,​ Neo4j)

Nice to have

Experience at a high-​growth,​ recognizable tech company (e.​g.​,​ C3.​ai,​ Palantir,​ Vertex,​ Alteryx)

Experience with LangChain,​ LangGraph,​ hybrid RAG all pluses.​
