We are looking for a Senior Product Designer with 5+ years of experience to join our small but growing design team. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to design culture at Semgrep and support us in our mission to make it expensive to exploit software. You will have immediate ownership, working throughout on simplifying complex security and software engineering workflows.

What will you be doing?

• Lead and execute ambiguously scoped design initiatives within and across product teams.

• Collaborate with product managers and engineers to define product direction and roadmap decisions grounded in user needs.

• Advocate for simple and thoughtfully designed workflows, owning UX metrics like task success and time on task.

• Conduct hands-on user research, synthesizing and sharing insights about users and their workflows.

• Contribute to design critiques, mentor teammates, and help establish design standards and processes for our growing team.

Some example projects that you might work on include

• Designing experiences for AppSec engineers and developers who work in the IDE or through the MCP server.

• Reimagining the information architecture of the Semgrep app to better match user mental models and scale with our growing product surface.

• Evolving workflows like triage, vulnerability detection, and policy creation to be intuitive, trustworthy, and AI-powered. 

• Shaping and codifying our design system components to enable the broader team to self-serve.

Work experience

5+ years of experience in product design for digital products,​ ideally with exposure to engineer-​focused,​ B2B,​ or enterprise products

Designed for a technical audience (developers/security space).​

Simplifying complex workflows and abstract problems.​

Strong UX focus and high-​quality craft.​

Metrics-​driven design approach.​
