Dose is one of the fastest-growing consumer health and wellness companies, offering clinically-backed, functional supplements that are science-driven and actually deliver results. The business is comfortably nine figures in revenue, scaling rapidly, and maintains a lean, high-talent team focused on results, ownership, and intellectual curiosity.
Despite their scale, Dose has never had a formal retention function, creating a unique opportunity for this leader to build it from the ground up in an already proven business.
The Head of Retention will build, own, and scale the full post-purchase lifecycle at Dose — from activation and engagement to loyalty and reactivation. They’ll report directly to the VP of E-commerce, with four to five direct reports once fully staffed (two already in place, including the Churn Strategy Manager placed via Paraform).
This leader will set the strategy, build the systems, and lead execution across retention, lifecycle marketing, churn prevention, and loyalty. The function today is nascent, with fragmented email flows and basic Klaviyo programs — meaning there’s low-hanging fruit and greenfield opportunity to architect the foundation and scale performance.
Responsibilities
- Build, own, and scale post-purchase lifecycle programs (activation, engagement, loyalty, reactivation).
- Develop retention strategy and lead execution across CRM, lifecycle marketing, churn prevention, and loyalty.
- Establish systems, processes, and tooling to improve performance (e.g., Klaviyo, Attentive, Stay.ai).
- Partner cross-functionally with E-commerce, Product, and Analytics teams.
- Hire, manage, and mentor a team of 4–5 specialists focused on retention.
Requirements
- Built and led retention/lifecycle functions from scratch.
- Proven impact in subscription-based DTC businesses.
- Deep analytical toolkit (Excel/Sheets, data visualization).
- 7+ years of experience in lifecycle/CRM/retention with deep DTC experience.
- Fluent in retention tools (Klaviyo, Attentive, Stay.ai).
- Experience with segmentation, personalization, predictive modeling.
- Strong cross-functional communication skills.
